Hi all..   My name is Elaine Wallace. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I was born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire where I grew up with four brothers, Mum & Dad and our black cat Fluffy.  Having been a little bit of a tom boy from a young age I never wanted to be left out of anything my brothers where doing and made sure I wasn’t left behind.

Athletics, Gymnastics, Boxing and of course Dancing where my thing.  Representing my senior school in most sports was where I was happiest.  Disco Dance Championships & dance displays, strutting my stuff for all to see in my younger days.  In fact I’m not sure much has changed now lol!!

I went on to study hairdressing in Stevenage and on completion found a job in London in which I spent a few years finding out about London life.   Following my oldest brothers footsteps my passion for travel kicked in and I soon found myself working on passenger cruise liners on the deep blue sea for four years.  Great times were had meeting different people from different cultures and going to beautiful places where sometimes people can only dream of.

Back on dry land as we call it I soon found my spot working in the city of London as a Facilitates Coordinator at the Gherkin which was at the time the most iconic and impressive new office buildings in town.  After 9 years in the city my body decided to go into shut down mode without priory warning.  In fact maybe I just didn’t listen to the warnings my mind was giving me and just tried to cover it up.  No longer was I the fun lively person I used to be.  Depression had made its mark.

So today I’m here wanting to make a change and help others.  Supporting the body movement is just one avenue to help make a difference.  The way we look at ourselves is not the way others see us!  Being part of this exhibition is helping me remember that wild disco diva I once was & still can be.  Everyday growing in confidence to share with others. My aspiration now is to help those with body confidence issues, and metal health.  Hoping to make my mark in the plus size fashion world and stand & support the real figured men & ladies in today’s world.

Much Love
